The most talked about musical event of recently memory is heading around the world, as has been exclusively revealed to NME today. Following the highly talked about UK and Ireland dates that were announced in August (and confirmed to be the only European shows of the year), the reconciled Gallagher brothers will also be setting off to North America, Asia, South America and Australia.

The gigs are yet to be formally announced by the band and no dates or venues have been mentioned but it would seem that Oasis will be taking to the stage in Toronto, Chicago, East Rutherford, Boston, LA, Mexico City, Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne, Sydney, Sao Paulo, Santiago and Buenos Aires.

With Liam seemingly confirming the end of his solo career at his headline performance in Malta on Sunday with an emotional thank you to his band members, this only goes further to suggest the brother’s commitment to the band in the long term.

There is also speculation surrounding the acts who will be joining them on the tour as well as the band members who will be accompanying Liam and Noel on stage, and thanks to the numerous line up changes that the group underwent during its 18 year career, there is no shortage of candidates. Bonehead (Paul Arthurs) is currently the closest to being confirmed and is rumoured to have a played a role in the brother’s reunion, alongside playing with Liam on his Definitely Maybe 30th Anniversary Tour this year. Three of Oasis’ four drummers have been separately rumoured to be back in the band with Chris Sharrock, who sits behind the kit for the High Flying Birds, being the early favourite. However, Alan White later seemed to suggest his involvement which was followed by rumours which also put Zak Starkey in the mix. Both Gem Archer and Andy Bell have been heavily tipped to be resuming their jobs on guitar and bass, opening up the possibility of a three guitar line up.

When the details of the shows are announced, it will be interesting to see if any further changes are made to the ticket sale process following the debate surrounding Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing of tickets for the UK and Ireland dates as well as the ability of people to resell them for significantly higher prices. Either way, demand will undoubtedly remain to be unprecedented.
